Well it has been an exciting few months on the book writing and publishing front! First, my children’s book, Summer of the Woods, is written and in the final editing stage. Thank you to a few friends who volunteered to do an early screening. It doesn’t seem to have done any permanent harm to their children and feedback has actually been positive! Second, I’ve decided to jump in with both feet and established MyBoys3 Press, an independent publishing company, which has been pretty fun getting off the ground and learning about the business and process of publishing.
Above is the cover and below a description of the book, hot off the (virtual) presses. If you would be interested in an advance (signed!) copy, please leave a comment to this post or email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I’ll add you to the list. Once things go live, there will be links to where you can buy the paperback directly or on Amazon as well as the e-book for Kindle. I hope that Derek and Sam’s adventures in SOTW can add some excitement to your kids’ bedtime routine or if a bit older be something that they can sit down and read themselves.
About Summer of the Woods:
When ten-year-old Derek and eight-year-old Sam move with their family to Virginia they have no idea what adventures the summer will bring. As the brothers explore their creaky old house and the deep surrounding woods, the boys uncover the mystery of a valuable coin collection stolen from the local museum sixty years earlier. Join the boys as they spend their summer hunting down the rare 1877 Indian Head cent coin, running from danger, searching the woods, secret caves, rushing waters, hidden passageways and more! Recommended for ages 8-12 reading level.
