Fall is my favorite time of the year. There’s something about the air turning cool that gets me excited. School hasn’t even started yet in our town (aparently we’re the last ones on earth) but the weather has turned to the mid-seventies this past week. We broke out the fire pit on the backyard patio last night and roasted marshmellows and made smores. It’s the next best thing to camping (without most of the the drama of our recent attempt!) The only real headache is keeping the boys from falling into the blaze. I don’t know if this applies to all kids (I suspect it does), but sitting with our family around a fire is like being on constant suicide watch. At any given moment they may decide to jump up out of their chair, totally oblivious to the danger at hand. I’m happy to report that we’re all still accounted for.

Top two things I’m excited for this fall

1) Matthew starting kindergarten Wed

2) Yankees getting back to the postseason
