Today finished off the reading program at Bettie Weaver and their school wide reading of Summer of the Woods. It’s hard to explain how fun it is to hear all the different classes telling me what their favorite parts of the story were as I signed several dozen books. I ran across the poem below written by Kate Messner, a children’s book author in New York. You can find her website and the original post here. I thought it perfectly summed up some of the feelings I’ve had interacting with so many young readers and the amazing year that has gone by with my books.
